How it works
From your lesson tab
to their portal.
Six steps, and the first two you only do once. No bot joins your call, and nothing is installed on your student's side.
It runs in Google Chrome. The recorder is a Chrome extension — free, on Mac, Windows or Linux. Safari and Firefox cannot record a tab this way, so Chrome is the one thing to sort out before your next lesson.

Add the recorder to Chrome
One click from the Chrome Web Store, free. Then pin it — the puzzle piece beside the address bar, then the pin — so the K is in reach mid-lesson.
Sign in once, inside it
The same email and password you use in Lesson Studio. That is the whole setup — nothing to copy, no key to paste. From then on it knows which students are yours and which language each lesson runs in.
Open your lesson and hit record
Be in the tab the lesson actually happens in — the Preply classroom, the Meet call. Click the K, pick the student, start. Chrome asks for your microphone the first time; allow it, close the popup, and teach. It captures the tab and your mic as two separate tracks, which is what lets the recap tell who said what.
Student
Stop, then send
When the hour ends, open the popup, stop, and press Send to Lesson Studio. Nothing is uploaded before you press it — until then the recording is sitting on your own laptop.
Read the draft it becomes
A few minutes later the recap is waiting in your queue — summary, corrections, vocabulary, homework, practice test. Change anything you like. Nothing reaches a student until you press send, so the thing with your name on it is always something you read first.
It lands in their portal
Your student opens a page under your name: the lesson written up, the audio of their own corrections, today's words added to their deck, and charts that move on their own. You did not open a spreadsheet.

The recorder captures the tab you are in, so these are examples rather than integrations. If you can teach in it, it records.

The recorder captures both voices. Some places require everyone on a call to agree, and Preply and italki have their own terms about recording lessons — worth a read before this becomes how you teach.
Nothing leaves until you send
The recording sits on your laptop until you press Send to Lesson Studio. Close the tab without sending and there is nothing to delete.
Audio goes after 30 days
It is transcribed to write the recap, then the files are deleted. The recap and the vocabulary stay; the hour itself does not.
You approve every word
Drafts wait in your queue. A student never sees a recap you have not read.

Languages
Twenty-seven to teach.
The recap is built for the language your student is learning and written in the language they read best. Where the script is not the Latin alphabet — Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Russian, Arabic, Thai — every word comes back with a reading beside it.
You teach
27 languages
Recaps, vocabulary and practice tests are generated for every one of them. Ten carry instructions of their own on top — noun genders, measure words, tone marks.

A beginner's hour runs mostly in the language you share, not the one being taught. It is a separate setting because it is a different answer — set once per student.
